About the Artist
Lea Cameron graduated from Millikin University with her BFA in art therapy in 2019. Her undergraduate focuses included mixed media painting and drawing. Her mediums of choice are acrylic paint, pastels, and patterned paper. She uses these mixed media materials to explore color, space, texture, and line. She is interested in how these elements can create abstract places like landscapes and how to work with these forms to create these spaces.
Lea is passionate about working with differently abled children, teens, and young adults through art and how these individuals can build life skills through creativity. She has been working in the human services field for over three years now. In addition to her own personal art endeavors, she runs a program called Our Voice Through Art for teens and young adults with special needs, and has taught a variety of classes in the central IL area.
